IN SUMATRA (Rec. 9.40). LONDON, March 16. The Vichy Radio quotes a Tok'.o statement that there are Netherlands East Indies troops still fighting in mountains in the north and centre of Sumatra. DUTCH FLEET ’rugby. March 15. Queen Wilhelmina disclosed in a broadcast that the first steps for the reconstruction of the Dutch fleet had begun. The battle would continue from more distant bases though some of their warships were still in action in the waters around the Netherlands East Indies. DiParavicini will place the appeal before Mr Shimadzu. a leading figure in the Japanese Red Cross, which before the war was an influential body, representing the strongest democratic sections in Japan. Since the war the strength and standing of the Japanese Red Cross is not known.
