Mr. E. B. E. Taylor, left for Wellington -yesterday. Miss M. Jackson, returned yesterday from Christchurch.

Mr. R. N. Clarke, senior telegraphist, Post and Telegraph Department, Reefton, has been transferred to the position of Postmaster at Kumara, replacing Mr. E. Rooney, who has been transferred to Hokitika.

Miss J. Gutberlet, exchange assistant, Post and Telegraph Department, Greymouth, has been transferred to the position of assistant at Brunner. Miss M. D. Conradson, assistant at Murchison, has been transferred to Reefton.

The death occurred at Hokitika yesterday of Mrs. Mary McNaugh Jansen. She was a native of Renfrewshire, Scotland, and had come to New Zealand 32 years ago. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. H. Williams Hokitika) and Mrs. E. M. Austin (Christchurch).

A vote of condolence with the widow and family of the late David Tennent was passed at last evening’s meeting of the Greymouth Patriotic Committee, members standing in silence. , Mr Tennent was a member of the Committee, and had been a member of the 1914-18 Committee since its inception.
