ELECTRO TREATMENT

FOR NERVOUS AILMENTS.

(Rec. 1.20). LONDON, February 24. The disease, schiozophrema, is being more successfully treated. Dr. K. Henderson announces that a new system of electro-therapy is being successfully used for the treatment. ’ ! . 1 The “Daily Mail” says: Th- treatment consists of electric shocks, passed through two small 1 pads on either side of the head, including an epileptic fit. The cure is painless. The patient has no memory of it. The new method was first- used in Italy. British doctors also have successfully used it after bomb-shock and shellshock.

The results are so satisfactory that other treatment has been discarded. Of 120 schiozophrenia patients given the new treatment, 50 have recovered or have shown marked improvement. The treatment is also being used successfully for melancholia and depression. Dr. Henderson sa.d that the people were standing up to the war strains in nerve hospitals.
