GREY CLUB’S MEETING. Mr. E. Pattinson, presided at the annual meeting of the Greymoutn Lawn Tennis Club last evening there being twenty members present. The Chairman eulogised the work of the various committees and or the Secretary (Mr. A Provan). The Secretary suggested that the Club build up a considerable credit balance to put it in a position to carry out improvements to the fences and pavilion. Three resignations were, accepted with regret. Eleven new members were nominated. It was decided that the season open on September 27 and, if wet, on Sunday, with a Yankee Tournament. The’ action of the Committee in lending the Club’s crockery for patriotic purposes, was approved. It was decided that the committee be empowered to economise during the year if necessary. The Secretary suggested that a method of coaching younger players be arranged. Mr. F. Woodhouse, supporting him, suggested that a committee be set up to investigate the question. It was decided to refer the matter to the incoming committee. The election of officers resulted as follows—President: Dr. H. S. Ray (re-elected); Acting Cnairman: Mr W Berrv; Vice Presidents: Messrs F. M. Denriehy, F. Kitchingnam (reelected); Club Captain: Mr. H. Hill; Hon. Treasurer: Mr. J. T. McKendrv (re-elected); Hon. Secretary: Mr. A. Prevan (re-elected); Committee: Mesdames Provan, McGlashan, Joyce, Rosewall, Miss M. Costello; Messrs C. N. Page, K. McLaughlin, E. Pattinson. R. Clark and Stewart. Delegates to West Coast Association: Messrs H. Hill and Stewart; Trustees: The Treasurer and Secretary; Auditor: Mr. FI. Herring (re-elect-ed).
