WEDDING

KNOWLES—DARGAN. On Wednesday, the marriage rook place at St. Patric K’s Church, Greymouth, oi Veronica Acleie, daugmer of Mr and Mrs Thomas Dargan, Greymouth, anil John Joseph, eider son of Mr and Mrs Thomas Knowles, Blaketown. Rev. Fatner J. Hoiohan olliciateu, and celebrated Nuptial Mass. Miss Joan Walker was organist, and Mrs W. Connor rendered vocal solos. The altar was decorated with spring flowers bv Mrs Connor and other friends of the bride. As the bridal couple left the church, a guard of honour' was formed by members of the Children of Mary Sodality. The oride, who was escorted by her father, wore a trained frock of magnolia satin, cut on Empire lines. It was shirred to the waist and trimmed with apT’aue on the bodice. She carried a sheaf of cream and gold freesias, spring flowers, and maidenhair fern. Miss Famie Harvey, a cousin of the bride, was chief bridesmaid, assisted bv Misses Eileen and Mary Minotti (Christchurch). The maids were dressed alike m maize silk velvet, cut on classical lines, and wore halos of gold sequins and veils to tone Thev carried sheafs of lavender coloured irises, and gold spring flowers and violets. bridegroom, was best man, and the groomsmen were Messrs Bruce Dargan (brother of the bride) and Joim Gough. Ninety guests were entertained at a reception at Harker’s. The guests were received by the bride's mother, who was attired in a black ensemble, with accessories to tone, and wore a shoulder spray of scarlet cyclamen, She was assisted by the bridegroom’s’ mother, who wore a black frock, witn navv accessories, and a navy hat. She also wore a fur coat and shoulder nray of violets and cyclamen. For ’travelling, the bride chose a violet cloque frock, with fur coat, and black accessories to tone. On their return from Auckland, Mi' and Mrs J. J. Knowles will reside in Greymouth.
