Had it All Ways
A well-known “Geordie” was about to leave the mining camp, and it was decided to give him a fitting send-off and presentation. So, when the great night arrived, many were the speeches, and all had good things To say of the departing guest, who was finally requested to reply. Not being much of a speaker, he spoke thus: "Well, Mr Chairman, I’m not much of an orator, but. as Shakespeare said in ‘Pilgrim’s Progress,’ ‘A man’s a man for ’a that’.” —Bent Axle.
