Men For Forces AUCKLAND, July 20. “The latest figures of unfitness in medical examinations for the forces indicate how the medical system of this country has promoted its health,’’ said the Minister for Health (Mr. Nordmeyer) at a meeting at Bayswater. “Is there not a grave need for more active steps to improve the health of the community?’’ The Minister stated that 162,000 men examined for the Navy, Army, and Air Force in New Zealand, 59,600 had been found unfit for service. Of 5,225 men examined for the Navy, 1,947 were unfit; of 146,290 examined for the Army. 53,045 were unfit; and of 11,350 examined for the Air Force, 4,619 were unfit.
