The final of the Phillies Cup,' played at Granity, between Granity High School and Westport Technical High School was won by the former by 12 points to 9. In the Prince Memorial Cup (junior), match between the unbeaten Pirates team and Stars, played on Victoria Square resulted in Pirates suffering defeat by 6 points to 3. Great interest was taken in the “Patriotic” Rugby match at Millerton, between Old Timers and Rangers nresent team. Old Timers won by 9 points to 8. The proceeds amounted to £lO. Basketball: The following are the results of matches played on Saturday in the Buller Basketball Association's competition: First Section: Technical High School Old Girls A 24, Denniston 6: Kawatiri A 28. Rangers 15; Granitv High School 28. Denniston 20. Bv winning l.iis match, Granity Hieh School remains in the first section for the new round. Second Section: Technical Old Girls B 23, Kawatiri B 14.
