REEFTON NOTES

[Our Own Correspondent], REEFTON, July 19. The death took pla'ce in the Blenheim Hospital recently of the Rev. T. A. Milgrew, formerly in charge of St. Stephen’s Church, Reefton. The late Mr. Milgrew was in charge of the Havelock district, and was very popular ,with all, and ample evidence was given of this when over 200 cars of mourners attended his funeral on Thursday. Mr. George employed on the engine staff at the Big River Mine, sustained a severe accident early this week. It appears that a tube blew out of the boiler, striking him on the face and arm, breaking his nose and arm as well as inflicting a severe wound below the mouth. Mr. Black is in Reefton Hospital. His injuries are very serious. A slight shock of earthquake was felt in Reefton about 1.45 o'clock on Thursday afternoon. It was ' preceded by a slight noise.
