1682 In Syria ABOUT 300 DEAD. (Rec. 6.30), SYDNEY, July 20. The total casualties in the Syr.ar. campaign of the Australian forces were 1682. The men ki led in action totalled 236, these including 26 oifleers. Those who died of wounds num bered 61, including four officers Those missing and believed kille: numbered seven, whiH the men wounded in action numbered 1049 including 73 officers. Those wounded and missing number 32. including nine officers. The missing total 177 •Deluding three officers. The men missing and believed prisoner- tom 64 The prisoners will be returned under the terms of the convent on, FRENCH SOMALILAND. BRITISH SIEGE. LONDON, July 18. A. Cairo communique states: The Governor of Jibuti has been approached with an offer to evacuate women and children from French Somaliland. As no reply has been received, definite orders for evacuation. giving the date and place, were made.
