[Per Press Association] WELLINGTON. May 21. i The work being done by girls on munitions contracts was most satisfactory so the manager of an engineering firm told the Armed F.oices Appeal Board at Wellington, to-day. He said that he employed from 90 to 100 hands before the war, but he only had 70, including 14 girls, at present. Only ten of the 70 employers were engaged on purely civilan work, the others being on munitions, or on work for tlhe Public Works Department. The output of the girls, he said, was greater than that of the men, because th e girls, unlike men, did not tire when the work was monotonous. “The girls can talk and still carry on their work. A girl’s hands work apart from her mind, but a mans hands and mind work together,” he added,
