CRETE ATTACKED

News has been received that the Germans are making an attack < on the island of Crete, where the Greek Government is located, and where the Bifitish Forces are under the command of Major-General Freyberg. The Germans are using parachute troops in their operations. There are yet no details as to the progress of operations. LONDON, May 19-
A Middle East R.A.F. report states: During enemy attacks on our aerodromes at Crete, a Dornier X and another unidentified aircraft were shot down by anti-aircraft fire.
