LINER “BREMEN”

AFIRE IN PORT LONDON, March 17 The Official German News Agency admits that the 50,000-ton German liner Bremen is on fire at a German ■ port, and has been blazing since yesterday. The agency says that the cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained. Reporting this admission, the British Breadcasting Corporation recalls that the Royal Air Force on Thursday night carried out particularly heavy raids on the ports of Hamburg and Bremen. LOSS OF LINER REPORTED. (Received March 18, 9.40 p.m.) LONDON, March 17. The Berlin News Agency stated that the liner “Bremen’’ was afire at Bremenshaven. It is reported that the fire was one of considerable magnitude. One unimpeachable source claims that, despite the efforts of fire brigades, the “Bremen” is considered lost.
