THE WEATHER
I Per Press Association] WELLINGTON, February 5. The weather report and forecast are as follows: — General situation: An anti-cyclone centred over ■'Tasmania covers the Tasman Sea and New Zealand; a tropical cyclone is located north of Noumea; winds gradually turning to south-easterlies almost generally; force strong at times in the far north and on the east coast; otherwise moderate to fresh. Seas in New Zealand waters: Moderate or rather rough. Eastern Tasman Sea: Fresh to strong winds from a southerly quarter; sea rather rough and later rising in the for northern portion. Weather: Scattered showers continuing on the Southland Coast, and in the exteme north. Some isolated showers also east of ’the main ranges of the North Island; elsewhere, fair to line. Temperatures cool.
