THE WEATHER
[Per Press Association] WELLINGTON, January 15. The weather report and forecast are as follows:— Genera] situation: Pressure is rising over New Zealand with the approach of an anti-cyclone from the west. Forecast:’Winds from a south-west-erly quarter, strong at first on parts of the East Coast south of East Cape, but decreasing, and otherwise light to fresh. Seas in New Zealand waters, rather rough north of Cape Egrnont and south of East Cape, but decreasing, and otherwise slight or moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate southerly to westerly winds, and slight to moderate seas. Weather for the most part fair to line; a few isolated showers, however, more especially in the Gisborne and Hawke’s Bay areas and in the far South. Temperatures cool to moderate, but rising slowly.
