ROUMANIAN LEADER Has he Gone to Berlin ? [Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] (Received January 15, 7.15 p.m.) LONDON, January 15. The “Daily Express’s” Bucharest correspondent says: General Antonescu has already left the captial by special train. It is reported that he is en route for the Wilhelmstrasse, Berlin.” The correspondent adds: “The Roumanian General Staff is becoming restive about the size of the German Instruction Army. Three German envisions are stationed in the Dobruja immediately northwards of Bulgaria.”
SUMMONS DENIED. (Received January 15, 7.15 p.m.) LONDON, January 15. No light can be thrown on the reported summoning to Berlin of the Roumanian leader, General Antonescu. . Roumanian and German officials in Bucharest deny that General Antonescu has been surpmoned to Berlin. BULGARIAN FORCES. EARLY MOBILISATION. (Received January 15, 7.15 p.m.) LONDON, January 15. The Sofia radio announced to-night that the 1941 class of Bulgarian conscripts who are due for calling up on January 1, must report to their local military commands to-morrow.
