DUNEDIN J.C. SECRETARY. DUNEDIN, December 11. A special meeting of the committee of the Dunedin Jockey Club this afternoon appointed Mr L. G. de la Parrelle, secretary of the Winton Jockey Club to the position of secretary of the Dunedin Jockey Club. Mr de "la Perrelle will begin his duties early in the new year. There were 45 applications. BEAU VITE IN AUCKLAND CUP. WELLINGTON, December 11. Mr Ralph Stewart, owner of Beau Vite has definitely made up his mind to run the horse in the Auckland Cup. Aucklanders will thus have the pleasure to seeing all three topweights, Royal Chief, Beau Vite and Old Bill, taking their places in the field.

Racing Notes Beginning Better: Spearthrust looked well when seen on Saturday. He appears to be able to gather his speed more quickly than what was previously the case. Improving Hurdler: Airdrie is an improving hurdler who should get amongst the money before the holiday fixtures are over.

At Wingatui: Two of J. A. White’s team, Norseman and Georgie, were worked at Wingatui .on Saturday morning and the former gave the impression that he will be close to his best form for the holiday meetings. Sir Amyas: Among those worked at Wingatu on Saturday morning was Sir Amyas who, with Heidelberg as a companion ran an easy six furlongs in lmin 20 3-ssec. Present indications: are to nominate Sir Amyas for the Wellington Cup. ’Plans for the Holidays: D. McDonald intends to take Sir Amyas and Hanlon to the Waikouaiti and Oamaru meetings. A Good Team: Strip, Boloynh land Moegiiel are the sheet anchors of A. E. Didham’s team for the holidays. They are all pleasing thei'r trainer. Dam Raced Here: Of New Zealand interest is a maiden winner at Randwick recently. This is Lo Dokes, a th'rce-year-old chestnut colt by Lo Luigaro—Podokes. Podokes was bred in England and is by Rock Flint from Galloping Girl, by Galloping Simon—lceglass., by Isinglass. Trained by J. T. Jamieson, she won races here. Sin Beau Well In; i Few peoples would have expected that Sir Beau would receive half a stone less in the Railway than he did at Riccarton. Sir Beau appears to have been assessed on his early sprint form, when he narrowly beat Enrich in the Wanganui Guineas, and failed to do better than fourth in the Great Northern Guineas. Even on this form he was given 8.3 in the Stewards’ Handicap, and would certainly have received more had it been known to the handicapper that he was going to show such good form in the Wellington Guineas. He certainly was beaten by Enrich in the Stewards’; but if anything lias enhanced his form, as he drew the outer and never got a “g°’’ ti]l Enrich had the race won. He rapidly overhauled the winner over the two furlongs. Sir Beau was beaten in file Derby, but only through lack of stamina, and he is likely to be a much better horse at Ellerslie. On form he is the outstanding candidate for the Railway.

Trotting Notes Minor 1 Placing? Clockwork again filled one of the minor. placings at the New Brighton on Saturday, an experience he had in each of his races at Forbury Park. A win for him would be popular. Above the Average Blue Diamond is a four-year-old filly by Jack Potts—Happy Voyage mare and she showed her ability when she won the Hurricane Handicap at Forbury Park 'in 3.27 2-5. She is trained at Hornby by J. Bryce.

Bred the Right Way Biworthy has done most of ihfs racing on North Island courses, but for the last few weeks he has been under the care of C. S. Donald. Biworthy has not won a race this season, but last year he won £450 and on a heavy track recorded 3.30 2-5 for a mile and a-half. He is bred the right awy, for he is by Worthy Bingen (by Nelson Bingen—Bertha Bell) from Worthy Chimes, who was by Worthy Bond from Queen Chimes, by Coldstream Bells—Vanquish by Vancleve. Worthy Chimes is a halfsister to Worthy Queen, who still holds the trotting record of 2min. 3 3-ssecs.

No Report: At the meeting of the board of the New Zealand Trotting Association Mr J. R. McKenzie asked whether there was a report from the Forbury Park Trotting Club dealing with an accident in the Sydney Handicap of that club’s recent meeting. This was not to hand and strong exception was taken to the omission of this report, both from the club and the stipendiary steward attending the meeting. It was decided, to ask the stipendiary steward for an explanation of his failure to report this accident. It was also decided' to ask the club why a report dealing in the inquiry held into this accident was not forwarded to the secretary of the association, as is required by the Rules of Trotting. Timaru’s Enterprise

Certissimus and Special Force, as well as other good three-year-olds are to meet in a special Championship Race at the Timaru Trotting Club’s meeting on Saturday, January 11. The idc a is an excellent one, and is bound to create Dominionwide interest. The total stakes for the meeting have been raised to £2OOO. Special Force is entitled to rank as the best three-year-old pacer in New Zealand at present, and Certissimus has proved himself prob-
