AIR LINE DISASTER
AT CHICAGO ‘ (Received December 5, 8.25 p.m.) CHICAGO, December 4. Eight were killed and eight were injured when a United 'air liner crashed here. Whilst approaching the municipal airport, she struck a twostorey house, ripping off both of her motors. Her occupants totalled sixteen. As the plane approached the airport, something went amiss. The plane struck the house, and also snapped power lines. This darkened the airport and the surrounding area. The plane crashed in flames. An hour afterwards five of the dead were removed. Those injured were taken to hospital. (Received December 5, 11 p.m.) CHICAGO, September 4. It is now stated that six are dead and that ten were injured in the air liner crash cabled earlier. Several of the ten are not expected to live.
