Smaller Yardings SHEEP FIRMER. [Our Own Correspondent! CHRISTCHURCH. December 4. Yardings were inclined to be smaller at to-day’s Addington market. which Messrs H. Matson and Co. review as follows: — Store sheep: The entry was smaller than last week, comprising mostly wethers, with a better showing of ewes and lambs. , Fat lambs: The entry comprised about 550 head. Values were firm from the outset, and were maintained throughout. Good lambs realise above the export schedule. Fat sheen: There was a shorte yarding of fat sheep, with a keen salt throughout. Wethers improved fror 2s to 3s per head. Best ewes were firmer by 2s 6d per head. Lighter shorts were Is ner head better. Fat cattle: There was a slightly smaller yarding of beef. Values were easier. The sale was inclined to drag. Heavy beef was easier to 15s , per head; medium weights being less affected. Plain sorts were easier by from 20s to 25s per head. Best beef sold from 37s 6d to 40s per 100 lbs., most of that at the yarding was selling at under 37s 6d per 100 lbs. Pigs: There was a large entry or fat pigs. The porkers opened on a par with last week. They'eased over the concluding-stages. Baconers met with a firm sale, and showed an advance on last week’s rates, which advanced was maintained throughout Good quality vealers and runners were firm.
