THE WEATHER
[Per Press Association] WELLINGTON, September 9. The weather report is as follows: General situation; An anti-cyclone is located near the Chatham Islands, .while a weak trough of low pressure, 'which is advancing across the Tasman Sea has reached southern New Zealand. Forecast: Winds in Auck41,and province I,’ght, moderate and variable, elsewhere, moderate to fresh northerlies to westerlies. Seas in New Zealand waters rather rough south of Cape Egmont and about Cook and Foveaux Straits; elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Winds from the westerly quarter, moderate in north with moderate seas, and strong at times in the south with rough seas. Weather for the most part fair to mdd; unsettled, however, in western and far southern districts of the South Island, with intermittent rain, and scattered falls extending later to the western portions of Wellington and Taranaki.
