FIRE BRIGADE. [Our Own Correspondent] The annual meeting of the Granny Volunteer Fire Brigade was he-d in tile; Anglican Han, Grandy, .on Saturday last. Superintendent McKecliie, who occupied tne chair welcomed the visiting firemen, honorary members anti visitors. In© proceedings opened with tltg toast to the King, 'rhe toast u.F.f$.A., proposed by Superintendent Mcrv,ecni e was replied io by Superintendent Clark. A recitation, “riumorous Personations, ’ was given by Mr M. Thompson. Community singing was indulged in, led by Ex-fireman Kaye, with Mt Cohn Campoell at the piano. The toast ‘‘West Coast Fire Brigades Association” was proposed by Superintendent McKechie ana replied to by Deputy Supt. Phibos, vice-presiaent of the association. A song "Littie Drummer Boy” was weL rendered by Fireman Kaye. Tile ‘‘Granity Ene Brigade” was proposed by Supt. Clark and responded to by Supt. McKeciiie and Deputy Supt. Phibos The veteran Fireman Dan Moloney, feelingly gave a song the title ox which ,was ‘‘The Men of the Millerton Mme” and as an encore he recited “The Charleston Good Templars ’. A song—‘‘Just a Song at Twilight” was given by Mr G. Tyier, and an item on piano and violin was well received. The history of the founding ol the Granity brigade was. given by Fireman Dan Moloney. Supt. CmrK presented Deputy Supt. Phibbs with his silver bar marking his service tor nine yeur s with the brigade. “A recitation by Mr M. Thompson was entitled ‘ Tasca” and another ‘‘Down by the Rio Grande”. The toast Visiting Firemen” was replied to by Fireman Jenken or the Westport Brigade, also Deputy Supt. C. Nelson of the Denniston Brigade. Mr G. Tyler sang _ I Love Thee Dearly,” and community singing was again a popular feature. A Recitation ‘‘The Charleston Football Fight” was given by Mr Dan Molony, and Deputy Phibbs proposed ‘‘The Gohl Star Members of the W.F.8.A.” which was responded to by Secretary McDonagh and Fireman Moloney. “Mexicale Rose” was sung by Mr J- Kaye and toast, ‘‘Honorary Members of ‘ the Granity Brigade’ .was replied to by Messrs Thompson, Pringle Nightingale, Irwin, J. Easton who ’ all in the course of their speeches congratulated the Granity Fire Brigade on its successes at the last West Coast Fire Brigade demonstration in winning both th c Rus-sell-McLeod Shield for the highest points in all events, also the Grogan Shield for the flat events. A toast proposed by Supt. Clark ‘‘Brigadesmen on Active Service” whs 'responded to bv Fireman L. Head who is hom 3 on‘leave at present. The toast of the musicians was replied to by Mr Colin Campbell and Mr C. Nuttall and the toasts the ladies and the press concluded a very successful evening, the seventh of the Granity Bri°*cide 5 The secretary Mr J. Shaw reported that the Brigade had met on 52 occasions during th© year, the attendance; being as follows: —
