Ashley (County Engineer) made the first horseback journey Io Toaroha Springs on Friday from Upper Kokatahi. They travelled a new bridle track to th e Springs from Barton's Creek. It is the committee’s intentions in the near future to enlarge and improve the bathing facilities and build another and more commodious hut. The provision of the bridle track i s the outcome of a promise geven by the Minister of Public Works (tile Hon. R. Semple), to whom, with Mr J. O’Brien M.P., to Mr R Chesterman and the County Council credit is due. The Springs are a mile beyond Toaroha Canyon, 1500 feet above sea level. Th,-.
