Thiel e spent the week-em. in Hokitika. Mr E. Herligh, of Evans Creek, hareturned alter a brief visit to Christchurch. Miss J. Denia has left on a visit to Ross. Mr T. Kelly has left for Chr.s>church. ' . . Mr and Mrs S. Myles have returned after spending their honeymoon in Otago. The dry spell of line weatner still continuing in South Westland. One day last week rain fell ughLy for a few hours, but the ia.l was m.’ sullicient to supply many of the householders wno ai’e out or wMei. The pastures are showing a rapid growth after the rain. A large number of spring lambs can be noticed in the paddocks on this ilat. The contractors for the building oi thp local swimming baths nave cumnieted the job. The annual meeting of the InterWanganui Dairy Coy. was held at the factory on Monday afternoon. A car load of Rugby supporters left here on Friday afternoon to attend the Canterbury _v. West. Coast Rugby fixture. The Rugby fixture last. was between North (Harihari) ami South (Wataroa). The game was played at Wataroa on Saturday afternoon to select an A and B lean, to play A and B fifteens at Hokitika. At the interval of the fixture the Wataroa fifteen was leading by 3 points to nil, but after th e changeover Harihari had th e better of the game and scored 9 points. The game ended by the visitors winning by on_ point. Mr W. Henderson had cnatg-i of the game. After the match Messrs Rowley, McMillan and Henderson, selectors of the South Westland mibUnion, picked th e following A and B teams to play at Hokitika next Saturday: A team: G. Vincent, E.
