DEFENCE OF PAPUA
GERMAN CRiTiCiSM. OF AUSTRALIAN MOVE. (Received August 4, 7 p.m.) BERLIN, August 3. The German Official News Agency says: The Australian Governments decision to include New Guinea end Papua in the- Australian defence system has aroused indignation many. It is described by the Berlin morning newspapers as “a gross breach of international law.”
The “Lokal Anzeiger”_says: Germany has not. forgotten that it was this mandatory power which made a cowardly attack on 1914, on this wholly unfortified and unprotected German area, and, since 1920, has exploited it unilaterally to its own advantage in violent contradiction to the mandatory principle
