MELBOURNE, August 4. At Flemington races yesterday, the Australian Hurdle Race, of three miles, resulted.—Kevastar 9.7 (Maher) 1; North Cape 10.3 (Abrahams) 2; Cheery Jack 12.9 (Meenan) 3. Nine started, including King’s Warden. Running to the front from the barrier rise*, Kevastar led throughout. He gave a fine exhibition of jumping and speed, and won brilliantly by a length, in Flemington course time.

Cheery Jack to-day found his burden of 12.9 too heavy, and finished four lengths behind North Cape, while Mamillius was fourth. Time 5.275.
