MR DUFF COOPER — » (Received August 4, 7.30 p.m.) LONDON, August 3. The Minister of Information, Rt. Hon. A. Duff Cooper, broadens ing, said Reich Marshal Geering’s principle of guns before butter produced increasing hunger in Germany and shortly would produce starvation in Europe. Destruction and devastation marched in the vanguard of Nazism, and famine rode behind. During Herr Hitler’s regime, he said, the population in Germany had decreased and diseases increased. Convictions of youthful criminals had doubled. Suicides and lunatics had multiplied. A typical stupidity was the German leaflets dropped over Britain. “I have never read such tedious, bombastic, boring balderdash,,” he said. “I have always hated Hitler. I will hate him to the end.”
