Sham Fights in Britain (From Official War Correspondent with N.Z. Forces in Britain). GREAT BRITAIN, August 1The second full-scale field exercise carried out in Britain by the Second Echelon covered three nights and four days. It consisted of a course in which infantry brigades ‘‘fought” each other in a series of day and night attacks, wherein th e Air Force cooperated with dive-bombing and machine-gunning the troops’ portions. Further valuable lessons were learned Ijy the' men, who, eager for more advanced training, which is now well forward. The first steamer mail from New Zealand, despatched on Jun e 22, was received to-day, comprising, four hags. A much larger mail is., expected next week.
