NOTED ATHLETE
KILLED IN AIR WARFARE (Received Aug. 2, 1.40 a.m.) LONDON, August 1. The death of the South African airman, Pilot Officer B. S. Black, is announced on active service. He was a former English Rugby International. He toured New Zealand with British teams. Pilot Officer Black was one of the most versatile athletes of his generation. He won the South African squash rackets championship, emd represented England in a bob-sleigh team which won the world’s championship.
