CROSS-COUNTRY RUN The Technical High School’s annual country race was held yesterday in brilliant sunshine. This event had special interest, since it was the deciding factor in the boy’s junior and senior individual athletic championships and also the last athletic event of the year to be considered in awarding the James Hutton Cup for inter-tribal competition. The crosscountry run. was approximately 21 miles by beach and road. Results are as follows: —

Senior cross-country run: R. Richards (Tainui) 1; N. Werner (Taiaroa) 2- D. McLean (Takitimu) 3; S. Hunter (Arawa) 4; C. Shackley (Tainui) 5; J. Haglund (Taiaroa) 6. Time—15min 20sec. J'unior cross-country run: A. Forrest (Tainui) 1; R. Wright (Tainui) 2; W. Page (Taiaroa) 3; C. Williams (Arawa) 4; K. Paterson (Tainui) 5; R. Campbell (Tainui) 6. Time—ls min 25sec.

Boys’ senior championship points were: J. Fleming 21; R. Henderson 18. Boys’ junior championship: A. Forrest 15; R. Wright 13i.
