Coast Championships OPEN IN FINE WEATHER The West Coast golf championships opened on Saturday and continued yesterday at Kaiata. Brilliant weather and dry links made for interesting play and a good standard of golf was witnessed. In the first round of the men’s championship total results were: — Jackson beat Woods. Caulton beat Adamson. P. Warnes beat Hay-Mackenzie. Rhodes beat Wilson. t * Second round results were: — Jackson beat Caulton. P. Warnes beat Rhodes. Saturday’s medal watches were won by T. Houlahan 71 and S. R'. Wallace 70, Wallace * winning on the count back from A. J. Duncan. The best aggregate gross score in the qualifying rounds was that of J. W. Jackson (Shirley), two rounds of 75. Yesterday morning’s bogey match was won by T. Houlahan (Ross), 1 up. ’ *' DALGLISH SHIELD Westport won the Dalglish Shield (teams’ match with four players), Greymouth being second and Hokitika third.
