3000 U.S. Planes • BRITISH’ MONTHLY REQUIREMENTS. WASHINGTON, July 26. Mr Knudsen, who is the defence ■ ction co-ordinator, stated that Britain will need to build 38 factories in the United States, to obtain a production of 3000 ’planes monthly, while such production could not be reached before the middle of 1942. He stated that he is preparing for the British an estimate of factory equipment costs necessary.

The present United States ’plane production is approximately 900 monthly. Britain will obtain 236 ’planes from the August production. Mi- Knudsen said that it takes from six to 11 months to erect and equip an aircraft factory.
