The weather report is as follows:— General situation: Conditions are still disturbed over New Zealand, and a new centre of low pressure, which has developed in the Eastern Tasman Sea, is moving on to the central provinces. An anti-cyclone covers south-eastern Australia. Forecast: Winds light to fresh, northerlies to westerlies over most of the North Island; otherwise moderate southerlies to easterlies; later freshening from the south. Seas in New Zealand waters slight to moderate, later rising north of Kawhia and from Cook Strait southwards. Eastern Tasman Sea: Winds moderate to variable at first, but a change to strong westerlies or south-westerlies is advancing from the west. Seas are becoming rough. Weather cloudy to overcast generally, and in places misty or foggy. Intermittent rain is probable in Westland and in the central provinces, and scattered rain elsewhere. Temperatures are ■ becoming cooler.
