TOTAL NOW £1,264,000. [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON. March 19. The total of interest-free loans and > donations to the Government for wai purposes is now £1,264,928. To-day’s list includes £l,OOO each from W. E. Woods, Ltd., Wellington; Byron and Brown, Wellington; Odlin Timber and Hardware Company, for the duration and six months; Wardell Bros, for the duration and 12 months; W ( Yandle, Putaruru, for the duration. LOAN OF £5,000. NEW PLYMOUTH, March 19. The trustees of the New Plymouth Savings Bank have made available to the Minister for Finance £5,000 free of interest, for the duration of the war and 12 months afterwards. £lOO FROM RUGBY CLUB. DUNEDIN, March 19. At the annual meeting of the Ravensbourne Rugby Club it was .decided I that the sum of £lOO, raised by . a bazaar during the last season, \ with the intention of building a clubroom, be lent interest-free to the Government for the duration of the war and six months after. At the annual meeting of the Carterton Golf Club last night, it was decided to forward the Government a loan of £5O, free of interest, for the duration of the war and six months after. MORE BIG GIFTS. WELLINGTON, March 20. A total of £1,305,267 has now been contributed to free loans and contributions. To-day’s list includes £lO,OOO from Dominion Motors, for the duration of the war and six mdnths afterwards; £lO,OOO from McKenzie’s Department Stores, Wellington, lor the duration and 12 months; £2,500 from John Chambers and Son, Auckland, for the duration: £2,000 from the Canterbury Steamship Company, for the duration and six months. Seven contributions of £l,OOO for the duration and six or 12 months are from Abott, Armstrong, and , Howey, Auckland; Hallenstein Bros., Dunedin; Andreae and Company,.. Christchurch; J. R.
