FASHION PARADE

METHODIST CHURCH FUNDS. White’s Fashion Corner staged a Fashion Parade in Wesley Hall on Wednesday evening, as the result of which St. Paul’s Methodist Church Funds will benefit to the extent of £2O. An excellent musical programme was arranged by Mr H. Prescott, and the parade featured the latest creations in evening frocks, dinner gowns and cocktail frocks, house and street frocks, afternoon frocks, coats, suits, hats, fur coats and furs, and evening coats. The parade excited keen interest and admiration. The programme was opened by Mr S. B. White thanked the mannequins, and the artists, particularly Mr Prescott, who arranged the programme, and the business houses, who had assisted. Messrs Lawn and Fleming (gloves), Hannah’s Ltd., (shoes), Tymons Ltd., (gloves and handbags), Sutherlands (evening bags and necklets), Miss G. Robinson (bouquets) and Harley’s (furnishings). The mannequins were Mrs Russell, Misses Rita Borton, Kath O’Donnell. Muriel Lawn, Gladys Foster, Mirian Trott and Kath Thomson.

In the bridal parade, Mrs Russell was the bride’s mother, Misses Trott and Foster bridesmaids, Mary Wilde and Betty Marshall flower-girls, Misses Lawn, Thomson and O’Donnell guests, and Miss Borton, the bride. Mrs E. Parfitt and Miss M. Carruthers were accompanists, and Miss A. Bush gave the commentary on the parade. _ Items were contributed hy Misses K. Thomson, J. Roberts, I. Turner, .1. Holt and C. McNaughton, and a ballet by pupils of Miss M. Trott. Supper was provided by the St. Paul’s Ladies’ Guild.
