Various Items RED CROSS GALA. RUGBY, March 13. The King and Queen, attended by Viscount Halifax, visited a gala matinee at Palace Theatre in aid cf the Lord Mayor’s Red Cross Fund. MR. WELLES IN LONDON. RUGBY, March 12. Mr. Welles, accompanied by the American Ambassador (Mr. J. P. Kennedy), was received in audience by the King, and in the evening Mr. Welles and Mr. Kennedy met Mr. Chamberlain and Lord Halifax. Mr. Welles will be the chief guest at a dinner party to be given by Lord Halifax. The dinner will be attended by members of Cabinet, and probably some Opposition leaders. RUGBY, March 12. Air. Welles continued his talks with British leaders to-day. His contacts included the Chancellor of the Exchequer and Mr. Churchill.
