THE WEATHER

WELLINGTON, January 16.
The weather report states: General situation: An anti-cyclone of moderate intensity is moving on to the Dominion from the west. Forecast: Winds light to moderate, and variable, with westerly directions predominating, but-with sea breezes during the day in the eastern coastal, areas. Seas in New Zealand waters slight -to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Light to moderate and variable winds in the northern portion, and moderate westerlies to north-westerlies in the southern; seas moderate. Weather mainly fair to fine, and milder. Some scattered light rain at first, however, in the north-eastern portion of the North Island, and showers later in the far south-west.
