REEFTON NOTES
[Our Own Correspondent]. REEFTON, January 16. Lient. Barsby, of the Salvation Army, who has been stationed ui Reefton for the past 12 months, lei. this morning for his new appointmem at Sumner. After- four days’ rain the weather in Reefton broke fine to-day, with cm increased temperature, though it w not hot, the sun being obscured clouds for most of the day. Mrs T. F. McKenzie, who has in Reefton Hospital for some uay. suffering from bronchitis, has made a good recovery, and was able to leav« the institution to-day.
Major O’Hara, who has been op the Salvation Army staff in Reefton for some weeks past, left on return to Granity to-day. - , Mr and Mrs Charles Chandler left for Christchurch to-day, where Mrs w.Jil. wsceive a t medical specialist’s attention. The total rainfall in Reefton for the 12 months in 1939, recorded at the Reefton School of Mines, was 63.31 inches. Rain fell, on 158 days.
