EN ROUTE TO NZ.
LORD WILLINGDON AT DARWIN. (Received January 15, 7 p.m.) DARWIN, January 15. The Marquis of Willingdon, who is to represent the British Government at the New Zealand Centennial celebrations, arrived here by air to-day with Lady Willingdon. Lord Willingdon said: “Whatever people may say of India and its Congress, there is no possible doubt of its intense loyalty.” He added that he had seen the New Zealand Regiment which had been enlisted in England shortly after the outbreak of the war. It was a regiment of men as admirable as could be enlisted anywhere.
