WELLINGTON, January 4. The weather report is as follows.— An intense anti-cyclone extends over New Zealand from the north-west. Forecast: Winds, light to moderate, and variable, over the North Island; gradually freshening northerlies to north-westerlies about and south o Cook Strait. Seas in New Zealand waters rough south of Westport, 'and about Foveaux Strait, elsewhere, slight or moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Light and variable winds and slight seas in the northern portion; fresh to strong north-westerly wino*, and rough seas in the southern portion. Weather fair to fine and warm, but with scattered rain developing to-morrow in the far south-west and south.
