VITAL STATISTICS

1939 FIGURES. During 1939, 42 less births were registered in Greymouth than in 1938, when the figure was the highest format least 11. years. The 1939 total was 325, which was well in advance of the figures for the years from 1929 to 1937. Marriages notices issued increased by two whilst marriages in the registry office increased from 15 to 24. Deaths, at 146 increased by 6 over 1938.
