The death occurred suddenly at his residence last evening, of Mr John William Horrack, of Rigg Street, Blaketown. A native of Oxford, Canterbury, and 58 years of age, the deceased w'as a sawmill engineer, and was Highly esteemed by all who knew him. He was engaged at the Turiwhate sawmill of Messrs Malfroy and Co. He had been on the West Coast for 45 years, and was at different times a resident of Camerons, Te Kinga and Karamea, coming here to live about two years ago. He was in former years, a follower of football, and also took part in- axemen’s contests, while he was a member of the Star of the West Druids’ Lodge. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Mrs N. Nord (Moana) and Miss Jean Horrack (Blaketown), and two sons, John (Wellington), and Kevin (Blaketown). The funeral takes place to-morrow, leaving St. Patrick’s Church, after Requiem Mass, at 9.30 a.m.
