FOREIGN REFUGEES
ADMISSION TO DOMINION. AUCKLAND, September 5. The suggestion made by the Hon. T. Bipodworth in the Legislative Council that the Government should accelerate the admission of European refugees into New Zealand and set up a Parliamentary committee to report on the question of immigration was commented upon bv an Auckland business man. He considered that a note of warning should be issued, and that before anything was done careful inquiry should be made, as it was possible that an influx of foreign labour into New Zealand might have the tendency to aggravate the position of over-production in the local markets.
