[Our Own Correspondent], HOKITIKA, September 6. Local Post Oilice officials have had very many applications for licenses for petrol during the last few days, concern being shown by users of motor vehicles at the war emergency restrictions. Rimu Flat Dredge retain on Monday was 151 ozs. 12 dwts. for 1301 hours, from 34,513 yards. The large suspension bridge over the Karangarua river, at the Copland Public Works camp, is taking shape. On the north side of the ’-iver the erection of the imposing towers wh en carry the actual suspension ropes, is being proceeded with, and these add a note of colour to the countryside.
