INANGAHUA CENTRE. ■■ Mr C. Ccfxall presided at the weekly meeting of the Management Com- ■ mittee of the Inangahua Rugby ! League, other members present were . Messrs E. Riley,, R. Irving, E. J. Richards, C. Hinton, W. Blom, B. Vine ' (Canterbury) and T. F. McKenzie ’ (Secretary). The President, in ex- ’ tending a welcome to Mr Vine, manager of the Canterbury Schoolboys’ team, said how pleased he was to see a Canterbury boys’ team in Reefton, and welcomed them on behalf of the League. Mr Vine, replying, thanked members for the welcome extended and the hospitality shown to himself and members of his team. He congratulated the Inangahua League on fielding such a fine team of boys, and said that they fully deserved their win. A motion of condolence with Mr M. O’Brien of Nelson Creek,, on the loss of his mother, was passed by the meeting. * The Grey Valley Club applied for a grant towards its funds. The Secretary said that the Club had incurred heavy expenses in connection with its lower grade teams. It was decided to advise the Grey Valley Club that the League, on account of heavy expenditure, could not make a grant at present, but the matter would again be considered later when, if possible, a grant may be made towards third grade teams expenses. The Secretary was authorised to finalise arrangements for the visit of the senior representative team to Wellington. It was advised that W. O’Malley was not available for the trip, and his nlace in the team would be taken by P. O’Regan. A McEwin (Waiuta) was selected as the emergency forward. > Mr C. Coxall was appointed as man-/ ager of the representative team to yisit Wellington. The following fixtures were drawn up for this week-end:— Senior: Special Challenge match: Waratahs v. Grey Valley at Reeftcn, 2.30, C. McElwee, Kiwi v. Marist at Wingham Park, Greymouth, 2.45, J. Griffen. Waiuta v. Ngahere (West Coast) at Waiuta at 2.30, F. Thorn. Junior: (Ainsy Banner): Grey Valley v. Reefton at Ikamatua, 2.30, J. E. Scott.

Third Grade: Waiuta v. Reef ton at ! Waiuta, at 1.30, J. Barron. QUEEN CARNIVAL. The West Coast Rugby League Queen Carnival will definitely condude this week and every endeavour is being made to make it a huge success. At a meeting of Central , Executive it was decided to conclude the Carnival with a combined Shop Day to be held on Friday, September S, and a Grand Bazaar to be held in the Town Hall, Greymouth, on Saturday, September 9. The final positions of the Queens will be announced at the Bazaar and all competitions will be finalised. During the evening a tug-of-war contest will be held, also many other attractions.
