XTOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that N unde r Regulation 3 of the Alien Control Emergency Regulatums nia on 4th September, 1939, every alie ? New Zealand on that date is to make application for under the Regulations not.later - than 14 days from the date of the Regula tions. ALIEN means a P e £ son c a aee of 16 years or over, who is not a British subject, or who no^ w . ® b ‘ ing that he may also be a British sub iect by birth or naturalisation or otherwise, is or at any time has been according to the laws of any State with which His Majesty is at war a national of that State. Every person who after the date or these Regulations becomes an alien, whether by attaining the age of sixteen years, or, in the case of a woman by marriage to an alien, or otherwise howsoever, shall within fourteen days make application for registration. Every application for registration under these regulations shall be made personally at the Police Station nearest to which the applicant resides. After the expiration of fourteen days from thre date of these Regulations every alien registered under the Regulations shall produce a Certificate of Registration when required to do so by any Police Officer. The penalty for failing to register or for any other offence against the Regulations is a fine of £lOO, or three months’ imprisonment, or both fine and imprisonment. NOTE: It is of the utmost importance in their own interests that all aliens register under these Regulations. All persons who are in any way doubtful as to their nationality, or whether they are subject to the Regulations are urged to call at the nearest Police Station when steps will be taken to determine their nationality.
