HARIHARI NOTES

The Manager of the Inter-Wanga-nui Factory advises that the factory will re-open on Wednesday, August 30lh. to receive supplies of cream. * Last week some very small catches of whitebait have been made at the mouth of the Big Wanganui River. Mr. Max Proctor, who has been stationed in the office at the New Zealand Road Service here for th* past 12 months, has received a transfer to Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. T. Ford, who were recently married, will return home this week.
Mr.' A. Gibb, of the Hokitika branch of the New Zealand Road Services, is relieving in a similar position here. The first consignment of bobby calves will be forwarded from here on Thursday. The Harihari Football Club intend holding a “victory” ball about the end of next month. Mr. Fred Boakes, well known whitebait catcher, has taken up his “possy” on the Big Wanganui River.
Master A. Barrett, of Waiho, is spending holidays here. Mr. M. Keating, of Kumara, is here on a visit.
Master H. Williams, of Weheka, is on a visit to Harihari. The South Westland football representatives will travel to Hokitika on Saturday next to play a return match with Hokitika.
The annual meeting of the InterWanganui Dairy Factory was held at the Factory on Friday last, when a large number of shareholders was present.
