MORE RIGID THAN N.Z. [Aust. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] (Received August 28, 10.25 p.m.) CANBERRA, August 28. Regulations were gazetted today which give the Commonwealth Treasurer control of all oversea exchange transactions. The regulations prohibit the export of money. No money can be taken, or sent, to any place outside of Australia. Except through} the Commonwealth Bank, or through a trading bank as its agent. Except in accordance with conditions that are to be determined by the Commonweafth Bank Board, any person who has any gold is required to deliver it to the Commonwealth Bank within one month. The issue of oversea money orders has been restricted to five pounds per week to any one person. Except for ordinary trade transactions, and for other limited purposes, oversea bills of exchange, or promissory notes, cannot be drawn or negotiated. SYDNEY WOOL SALES POSTPONED (Received August 28, 10.10 p.m.) SYDNEY, August 28. The Woolselling Brokers’ Association here has decided to postpone the Sydney wool sales for a week, because of the international situation.
