Advice was received yesterday, by Mr. Frank Bird, Registrar of the ?Supreme Courn Greymouth of the death of Mr. Charles L. J'ame’s, crier;'/arid ’ court orderly of the Supreme Court, Christchurch. Deceased, who was-a returned soldier, was well known throughout New Zealand for his musical ability. During the war, he was in charge of a band with the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces. He was 51 years of age.

The funeral of Miss Mary 'Thereso O’Farrell took place at Karoro Cemetery yesterday morning. Rev. Father F. E. Kelly celebrated Requiem Mass at St. Patrick’s Church, and also conducted the service at the' grave side, assisted by Rev. Father J.s Holohan. Members of the Children of Mary Sodality, in regalia, formed a guard of honour, and acted as palloearers, whilst pupils of the Convent High School were amongst the large number of mourners.
