KARORO SPORTS CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING HELD. The annual meeting of the Ka r °r° Snorts Club was held at the Club s Rooms on Thursday last. There was a full attendance of members. The president’s annual report wa» presented. ’ The Balance Sheet for the yeai ended October 31st showed a satisfactory credit balance. ' The election of officers resulted:— natron, Mr H. D. James; president. Mr James McDiarmid (re-elected); vice-presidents, Messrs A. E. Izzurd J. Tennent, R. Thompson,, G. McKenzie and M. E. Carney; treasurer, Mt G. McKenzie (re-elected); auditor, Mr J. Tennent; secretary, Mr .W. H. Coumbe .(re-elected). The Club has been allotted the usual second Saturday in February for next year’s sports meeting—February 11th, 19i39. It was decided that the . Maiden Chop be deleted from the next sports programme, and this event be replaced with a 12in open handicap chop with increased prize money. Next year brown birch, logs are to be used for all chopping events. Th? usual donations of a Plumb Gold Medal and two Plumb Racing Axes have been made by Messrs Fayette R. Plumb Inc., for presentation to .the winners of the three chopping events.
