’SO GERMAN RABBIS, GOING TO PALESTINE. JERUSALEM, December 4. The Government has granted the request of the Chief Rabbi of Palestine, and has issued permits for the immigration of 30 German Rabbis. Mrs Rosenbaum, wife of the former leading Viennese physician, committed suicide at Telaviv, on hearing of the desperate plight of her 26 relatives in Austria. • LONDON, December 2, The diplomatic correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” says it is likely that Argentina and Brazil will take Jewish refugees if finance can be arranged. No progress could be reported in curing financial concessions from Germany, in spite of British, American and French representations. It is understood the question will be discussed with the Foreign Minister (Herr von Ribbentrop) during his visit to Paris. MEXICO CITY, December 4.

The German Consulate instructed German-Jews resident in Mexico to contribute 20 per cent, of their capital to the Reich as part of the billion mark .fine. After a meeting of the Vice-Chair-man’s Committee, set up by the Evian conference, a statement was issued that the Director submitted a report on the work which had been done since the last meeting. He was able to state the prospects for refugees and the settlement of involuntary, emigrants from Germany, were steadily improving, but the establishment of orderly conditions of emigration continued to depend in a large measure on the attitude of the country of origin. After reviewing the work of the committee, the meeting considered the future procedure, and decided to leave it to the Chairman, in consultation with the Director, to summon a meeting of the full committee in the near future. It is considered that a full meeting should be held in any event, early in the New Year.
